This is very old news, but I just figured that after two and a half years I'd give this announcement its own post instead of being tacked on to the end of the last entry.

My new blog is here.

Not here.

Here.

Here's a random entry in honor of a friend of mine who, as of late, seems to be preoccupied with all things random.

* Playing bass is fun. It's even more fun with a band.

* I never thought I would ever, ever, ever buy another _____ amp. Now I'm not so sure. It sounded really nice. The Fender Champ also sounded really nice, but I wasn't about to pay $500+, even if it is almost 40 years old. But I'm doing everything I can to avoid buying anything from Guitar Center/Musicians Fiend (no typo) ever again. Support independents.

* Speaking of independents, I gave away the "indie" CD my co-worker gave me. I figure if it keeps getting passed around, eventually someone will like it and be turned on to a band they would have otherwise never heard of. Why let the cycle end with me by throwing it away?

* Besides my parents and Andrea's mom, I've only had one person admit to liking our EP. I don't even know him. But it's okay. We like it.  (enough)

* Trevor moves his head side to side when he hears music. He started headbanging (sort of) when he saw part of my Zao: The Lesser Lights of Heaven DVD. Fitting.

* I miss CJ's Green Tea Snow Bubble, Ohana Hawaiian BBQ, and the rain.

* Marriage is awesome. More specifically, marriage to Andrea is awesome.

* I miss my jaw dropping when I'd see Ed Mosqueda behind a drum set. I also miss going home and practicing the beats and fills I'd steal from him.

* I found some pretty cool bands from Taiwan and Japan that don't sound too fobby and one that does.

* Pedro the Lion is on hiatus but David Bazan is going solo. I'm kind of tired of "guy and guitar" music at the moment. Saviour Machine's Legend III:II still hasn't been completed. Midsummer's debut full-length still hasn't been released.

* Most blended coffees have more sugar than soda.

* We keep hearing noises upstairs but supposedly no one has moved in yet. Weird.

* We were told that our building wasn't a pet building, but two people on our floor have cats and at least two people upstairs have dogs.

* Corner Bakery Cafe is good. Trader Joe's is an oasis.

* I hate football but wouldn't mind watching the 'SC/Texas game.

* I wish I still had a drumset and a place to play. It's been too long. Such a long hiatus means I'll be more creative but will have less chops. It's a give and take.

* This weekend I worked on getting the Spectaculars' last concert transferred to DVD. Not as fun as it could be since we have junk DVD programs, but still enjoyable.

* I like having a more sane Friday night schedule, especially since I get to be with Andrea and Trevor. I also miss going down to GOC and having a U-Dog or two before we worshipped together. I miss the loud singing. I don't miss the chalk dusty stage and the long drive home.

* We boxed up the Motif. It's nice having a desk again, but sad not having a keyboard accessible.

* My new blog has gotten a second public link (Accidental? On purpose? Does it matter? ). The first time it happened, I changed to URL to show this picture:

I thought it was pretty funny, and it worked...the next time I checked, the link had been changed.  This time, however, I'll skip that. I'm not willing to go through the trouble of hiding all public entries just for a prank.

The original plan was to give the URL for my new blog out to only a few selected people at first...those who had been active readers in the past. It was something of a reward...a special privilege.

*sigh* Oh well.

It's still under construction, but here you go.
